Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau

A quality skin care regimen is essential! You are already taking a big step to help improve the overall look of your skin, and now may be the time to establish or revamp your morning & evening skincare routine.  Botox and dermal fillers are going to work to dramatically reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Daily anti-aging skin care is shown to affect significant improvements in skin tone, fine lines, smoothness, and luminosity.  A gentle cleanser, moisturizer with SPF protection, and exfoliation will help maximize your results for a more youthful appearance.

  • Increase water intake.  Neurotoxins can be very drying, so please remember to increase water intake and be generous with moisturizer on treated areas to prevent skin dryness. Gentle exfoliation is also recommended.

  • Contract and release the treated muscles every couple minutes over the next 2-3 hours to help disperse medication into muscle evenly.

  • Do not lie flat for 4 hours following treatment.

  • Results can be seen in 3-14 days.  Two weeks, after treatment, ”touch ups” can be done if needed.

  • Avoid massaging/applying pressure/touching treated areas for 24 hours.  The goal is to keep the medication in the exact treated area that it was placed.

  • Common side effects include, but are not limited to, headache, injection site pain, injection site skin reaction, and injection site bruising.

  • Avoid using makeup for the remainder of the day.

  • Avoid getting facials and/or facial waxing for 2 weeks.

  • Avoid using any facial cleansing devices (i.e. Clarisonic, ZOE Bliss, etc) for 2 weeks.

  • If the forehead was treated, avoid wearing hats/visors for 4 hours post-treatment.

  • Refrain from heavy exercise/excessive sweating for 24 hours.

  • We strive for your satisfaction.  Please contact us if not pleased with results after day 14.

Dermal /Lip Fillers

  • Redness, swelling, firmness, asymmetry, itching and tenderness may be present for up to two weeks.

  • Sleep with your head elevated to reduce the amount of swelling.

  • Do not massage or put pressure on the treated area, unless instructed by the injector.

  • Wait four (4) hours to apply cosmetics, moisturizer or any lotions on the area.

  • Avoid direct sunlight & extreme cold weather until swelling/redness has subsided.

  • If lips were treated, you must avoid all activities that could disrupt the filler for at least 10-14 days (aggressive kissing, dental work, etc).

  • Do not schedule dental work or vaccines 2 weeks before or after your planned appointment.

  • Do not fly or travel long distances unless you have discussed with your treating provider.

  • Do not do heavy aerobic exercise, or do anything to raise your core body temperature or blood pressure for 24 hours.

  • Do not seek any other facial treatment (including laser, dental work, etc) in the treatment area for at least two (2) weeks.

  • The results are immediate, but best effects are noted after swelling has resolved.

  • Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen may be used as directed on the bottle, for any discomfort after injection. (Notes: NSAIDS Aspirin, Aleve, Ibuprofen may increase or lengthen duration of bruising).

  • Benadryl 25-50mg, per directions on the bottle, may be used for itching. Benadryl can make you sleepy. Do not drive or perform any activities accordingly.

  • The use of Arnica Montana (Available at NLI), may help with bruising. It is available topically, as well as orally. Follow bottle directions.

  • Lumps, bumps, or irregular asymmetrical areas may be noted especially once swelling has subsided. It is normal to feel these lumps and bumps, however they should not be seen.

Aerolase Laser

  • You may return to your normal daily activities immediately after your treatments.

  • Keep the treated area out of the sun for at least 1 week post treatment. If sun is unavoidable, cover it or block it with a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB minimum of SPF 35 or above for at least 4 weeks following treatment. Remember to reapply throughout the day.

  • Discontinue any chemical peels or exfoliating agents as the skin may become more sensitive after the treatment.

  • Keep the area well moisturized as dryness may occur – an oil free lotion is preferred to help the treatment be as effective as possible.

  • Be careful with hot water and do not bathe with very hot water until healed.

  • Keep clothing from rubbing the treated area and avoid other irritation to the area.

  • Do not use hairspray on or around the treated area.

  • To achieve the best results, complete the full treatment schedule at the intervals recommended by your laser practitioner.

  • Notify the clinic should you have any prolonged redness, excessive puffiness, or other unusual side effects.

    Important Facts to Remember

    1. There will be redness, and occasionally, mild blistering of the treated areas lasting for several hours to 3 - 14 days.

    2. The treated area might “crust”, “flake”, or look like a “cat scratch”. This should resolve within 3 - 14 days.

    3. Each area to be treated usually requires two or more treatments approximately 2-12 weeks apart.

    4. It might be impossible to remove lesions forever. Even though lesions may be diminished or “disappear” for long periods of 3-6 months, it might return in the future. The fact that the lesion responded to treatment and was disabled for an extended period almost invariably means it will respond to future treatment.

Microneedling

  • A certain degree of discomfort, redness, and/or irritation during and after treatment is expected. If any discomfort or irritation persists more than 24-hours, please notify the treatment facility.

  • Tiny scabs (of less than 1 mm in diameter) may form 24-72 hours post treatment and may remain for several days. The scabs should not be touched or scratched (even if they itch) and should be allowed to shed naturally.

  • During the first two (2) days following treatment, care should be taken to prevent trauma to the treated site: avoid hot baths, massage, irritating skin care products or exfoliants, etc. The skin should be kept clean to avoid contamination or infection; any mechanical or thermal damage to the area must be avoided.

  • For burning sensation, spritz the treatment area with a diluted vinegar solution (1 tsp white vinegar per 8 ounces water)

  • It is important to keep your skin moisturized after the treatment.

  • You may have mild swelling for 1-3 days after your treatment. Patients may apply an icepack (NOT direct ice) to the irritated area for 1-2 days in approximately 15- minute sessions 3-4 times per day.

  • Redness for 1-3 days is common. After 12-hours post procedure, the patient may apply a hydrocortisone cream 3-4 times per day to reduce redness.

  • Makeup can be applied 12 hours after treatment.

  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure or use of tanning bed for at least two weeks after the treatment, as the skin that was treated will be more sensitive to the sun after your Sublative treatment.

  • Use a minimum of SPF 30 daily to protect your skin after your treatment.
